At first she thinks she is going mad, but the visions begin to come true. He becomes increasingly paranoid, alienating his friends and his wife, and in a moment of panic kills a man he fears was intending to kill him. He goes on the run but is captured by the police and sentenced to death in the electric chair, fulfilling the prophecy.

The Crystal Ball (1943): A failed beauty contestant becomes a fortune teller and is involved in a land swindle. Pleasant comedy with fanciful moments, ending with a pie-throwing contest.

The Crystal Ball (1943): Janice Mulgrew is flighty and romantic, and though she's only a waitress in an Atlantic City diner she dreams of a life of adventure. When she steps out of a fortuneteller's booth on the Boardwalk and into the arms of a handsome stranger it looks like her dream will come true, but the subsequent whirlwind of danger and intrigue makes her wish for a return to the quiet life.
