Broadway Melody of 1936 (1935): A young girl from Peoria comes to New York in search of fame and fortune but as per usual finds it hard going. Desperate for work, she disguises herself as a man to get a job as a bellhop in a posh hotel, only to discover that an important Broadway producer is staying there. All sorts of wacky hijinks ensue as she attempts to be "discovered" as a starlet without losing her job as a "man". Romance and theatrical success reign in the end.

The film itself was a hit, and nobody seemed to notice that the winning song, "O Nebraska, Where the Corn Comes Husking Down the Hills," failed to feature on Broadway the following year.

Broadway Melody of 1936 (1935): An accounting firm considers adopting a new business insurance policy. Loses steam at the 4 1/2 hour mark.

Broadway Melody of 1936 (1935): A Broadway producer is at loggerheads with a columnist. Fairly lively musical with lavish numbers.

Broadway Melody of 1936 (1935): A New York street sweeper watches the rise, fall and rise again of three aspiring actors and actresses.

Broadway Melody of 1936 (1935): A montage of Broadway hits from 1935, filmed to entertain audiences across Depression-era America. Concludes with a lengthy dance sequence by the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes.
