Fun on a Weekend (1947): College freshmen Jimmy, Ted, Barney and Cog ("It's short for Cogwell") head off for a weekend at the beach, only to have their jalopy break down in middle-of-nowhere Willardville. Stuck waiting for their car to be repaired, they meet some local girls, attend the Saturday night dance, foil the local gang of bullies and discover that even "nowhere" is somewhere.

Fun on a Weekend (1947): An Italian-American businessman falls for a poor girl in his grandfather's native village. Plenty of ripe scenery, but the script and acting are a bit too al dente.

Fun on a Weekend (1947): A young boy and girl spend a summer weekend in the countryside having adventures.

Fun on a Weekend (1947): A couple drive to the Poconos for a pleasant weekend in the mountain but both have secrets they dread to tell the other: he has lost his job at an advertising firm; she has bought a new bedroom suite. When the truth comes out it looks like the end for the marriage but love and the narrative forces of romantic comedy triumph in the end.

Fun on a Weekend (1947): One of a series of "naturist" films popular in the UK, this film shows a group of nudists engaged in various outdoor pursuits such as picnicking, badminton, swimming and throwing a beach ball back and forth. Such films took advantage of a loophole in British obscenity laws by having a purportedly "educational" purpose, but the camera's tendency to linger on attractive young women at play suggests an entirely different agenda.
