Iron Man (1951): A ring of jewel thieves, believing a priceless emerald* to be hidden in a housewife's steam iron, attempts to relieve her of the appliance. Art Carney plays the nitwitted crook who poses as the "iron man" in the gang's dubious plot to convince the lady that irons are collected once a year for routine maintenance.

*Are there any non-priceless emeralds in the movies?

Iron Man (1951): Australian rancher Jake Logan battles the elements, his archrival Len Barnaby and his own demons to survive life in the Outback. Jake may be tough enough to keep the ranch going but is he tough enough to avoid losing Kate, the woman he loves, to Barnaby?

Iron Man (1951): Caleb Steele returns from the war restless and angry. Realizing that fighting the Nazis was the only thing that gave his life meaning he decides to become a crimefighting hero like those in the comic books he sees in his local drugstore. Making himself a bulletproof suit and iron mask he starts off foiling small-time muggings and robberies but soon uncovers a sinister Communist plot that strikes at the heart of small-town America. The film's writer Dominic Argerick later sued Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Don Heck and Marvel Comics for breach of copyright for their "Iron Man" character; the suit was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.

Iron Man (1951): In Coaltown, Pennsylvania, miner Coke Mason hopes to better himself, buy a radio store, and marry Rose Warren. His gambler brother George thinks Coke can be more successful as a boxer, knowing that when he fights he's consumed with a murderous rage that makes him an "iron man." Seeing dollar signs in Rose's eyes, Coke reluctantly agrees, though he's fearful of the "killer instinct" that makes him a knockout success in the ring...and brings him the booing hatred of the fans. Will Coke throw off his personal demon before he kills someone?

Iron Man (1951): James Baxter, inventor and recluse, builds a sentient robot (Tobor) but finds himself unable to deal with the result. Tobor leaves in search of answers and friendship but encounters only fear and hatred. An angry mob chases him back to Baxter's house where he seeks shelter, but when a lit stick of dynamite is thrown through the window by the mob Tobor sacrifices himself to save his creator. A very thinly-disguised version of the Frankenstein story.
