The Ruining (2004): Set in a town called Waterloo, The Ruining is a 26-part tale of atrophy, breakdowns, collapse, defeat, (near) extinction, failure, grief, havoc, insolvency ... J. K. el Minnopee's cues are st- stu- stutteringly obvious, in hindsight, but it is nonetheless tragic to watch him take one fall after another. [Spoilers] Success triumphs in the end, and the brisk pacing ensures that we aren't left with any Zzz's.

The Ruining (2004): In 1890s Montana, rancher Brandon Clark faces financial and emotional destruction when a blizzard destroys his herd and traps him and his family in their remote cabin. One by one his family dies of illness as Brandon goes slowly mad from cabin fever and grief, railing against an enemy he cannot fight.

The Ruining (2004): Traditional family values are disturbingly challenged when two Los Angeles couples run into trouble on a remote mountain camping trip. Thirty years ago government drilling poisoned the water in a small town. Half of the town died. Those that are left are horribly addicted to psychedelic eggs bred by old Henry Behrens. When the strangers enter into his domain the stage is set for selective breeding and feeding of human flesh. Henry's 17-year-old daughter Becky is beautiful and thinks that she is a German shepherd.

The Ruining (2004): An ambitious social studies teacher who is tired of all the fuss and fanfare surrounding his school's science fair decides to one-up his colleagues with a "History Fair." But he doesn't bargain for the lengths his zealous pupils will go to in order to make the Town Hall into a convincing equivalent of an ancient Roman ruin.

The Ruining (2004): Straight-to-video parody of The Shining in which a family looking after a remote mountain hotel are "menaced" by a host of prankster ghosts. Stars Jason Alexander as father Zack.
