n.  a traditional Norwegian fishing village (also spelled Å); a small town in the Nordland and Troms regions of Norway.

<British policeman Paul Perry plans to ride his bicycle from “A” to “B,” he said Tuesday, adding that this jaunt will carry him from Norway to Nebraska.  Perry’s journey, expected to kick off Friday, would take him from the fishing village of Aa, some 1,500 kilometres north of the capital, Oslo.  From Aa, he plans to ride 10,000 kilometres through Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and to France, before taking a ferry to Britain and riding across the country to take a ship to New York.  He’ll then cycle north into Canada, making his way to Ottawa before pedalling to Toronto and then to Windsor before dipping back into the United States at Detroit.  If he’s successful, Perry said he’ll end his trip in Bee, Nebraska.  —Associated Press, “Cop to Bike From ‘Aa to Bee’.”>
