This week, the Associated Press reports that "the letter 'W' has entered the
mainstream of the Swedish language, getting its own section for the
first time in the country's most respected dictionary." Linguists
in Sweden have traditionally considered the W (called "double-v") to be
a lower form of the letter V. Now, according to the Swedish
Academy, the Swedish alphabet has grown from 28 to 29 letters.
