This presumably means that the waiter can tell the diner can't afford to order lobster, but at first glance we thought the waiter took the diner for a lobster, as in "Yes, we serve food to lobster diners."
Guest: "Do you serve lobsters?"
Waiter: "Yes, sir. What will you have?"
