In parts one, two, and three, we saw how Dark Shadows beat Seinfeld to be the first show about nothing. Imagine entire scenes about nobody being anywhere, with questions about "Who wasn't there?"
Imagine a spooky house in which there is no evil ...
... and in which no one is under a curse ...
... because the ominous closets contain no skeletons:

That's our own face of blurred panic when there's a knock at the door. She's reassurred that ghosts don't knock, but of course they very famously do knock on doors and rap on tables. From Dark Shadows episode 1174.

Accidental grotesqueness in Dark Shadows, courtesy of a warped mirror and a clueless actor. Kate Jackson betrays a malformed face as she stands waiting for her cue, mouthing her upcoming lines (as the crew bangs props offscreen), unaware that the cameras are already rolling. It's a bizarre moment of distorted reality, all the more startling and affecting because it was unplanned. From episode 1195.

... even little boxes are eerily empty ...
... as well as bigger boxes, like coffins, because the larger the emptiness, the greater the horror:
Where did everything go? It joined the nothingness from whence it came:

There's endless suspense in nobody stalking or trying to hurt you:
